Supported Employment — Individual

Helping individuals find work that fits their strengths — and the coaching to thrive once they're on the job.

A support worker and a young man in a wheelchair share a joyful high-five outdoors.

What it is

Supported Employment — Individual is a phased service: we start with discovery (what work fits, what doesn't), move to job development with local employers, and then provide on-site coaching as the individual learns the role. Support continues as long as it's needed.

Who it's for

  • Adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities exploring paid work.
  • Individuals currently employed who need ongoing job coaching to stay successful.
  • Participants whose plans include Supported Employment — Individual hours through NJ DDD.

What to expect

Every placement begins with a discovery process — we get to know skills, interests, and the kind of environment that fits. Job coaches stay involved at the worksite until natural supports take over, with check-ins after that.

How it's funded

Supported Employment — Individual is funded through the NJ DDD Supports Program or Community Care Program. We coordinate with Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) where appropriate.

How to start

Have your Support Coordinator submit a referral or call our intake line. We'll schedule an initial conversation about goals and timing.
